The guy behind the books
I've been close enough to know how it should feel.
I spent 20 years in the military, with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. After that I worked more than a year as a contractor for JSOC. Today I live in the Tampa, Florida area and work for a small company that still does Department of Defense work with Special Operations. That background is in every book I write. When a character clears a room or makes a call under fire, it has to read the way it happens.
I started the Dark Skies saga because I wanted post-apocalyptic stories that felt real: families, hard choices, and consequences that stick. Eight books later, the Kerrigan saga is heading into its finale, and there are more worlds on the way.
Writing is my passion. It's what I plan to do until the day I'm no longer on this earth.
